Remove the Public Sector Equitable Compensation Act from the budget bill
The Senate has an opportunity to remove the Public Sector Equitable Compensation Act from the Budget Implementation Act, without delaying the passage of the budget and economic stimulus measures contained in C-10. Send a letter to the members of the Senate National Finance Committee and to the Senators in your province urging them to support the removal of the PSECA from Bill C-10. Don’t use the budget bill to eliminate pay equityOn February 6, the government tabled legislation that will radically change the rules governing pay equity in the federal public sector. The Public Sector Equitable Compensation Act will remove the right of public sector workers to file pay equity complaints with the Canadian Human Rights Commission and transform it into an issue that can be traded away at the bargaining table. This Act must be removed from Bill C-10, the Budget Implementation Act.
