Dear Prime Minister,

I am writing this letter because you asked Canadians to speak out.

Our country is facing an economic crisis. Canadians are worried about our jobs, our retirement savings and our future. Right now, we need all of our political leaders to work together for the common good, for the economy and the country.

News is circulating that you are considering shutting down Parliament early. I do not support the idea of stopping the work of Parliament for the second time in 14 months. You have lost the confidence of Parliament and Canadians to govern during these tough times. This is a desperate game to hold on to power and avoid the real issues.

These games must stop. It's time to put the country and the people first. I want a functioning Parliament now more than ever. Shutting Parliament down is not an option.
